Located directly off the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach, Bam Bam Bakehouse is a much-loved and highly frequented favourite among Gold Coast locals and day trippers.

A major drawcard is the cafe’s ever-changing, incredibly tempting assortment of house-baked pastries and bread, which you can see being freshly made behind the counter. In particular, Bam Bam is best known for its flaky, buttery croissants, which take a whole three days to perfect; closely followed by its creations using choux pastry.

Though whilst people may be lured in by the bakery’s drool-worthy artisan pastries many stay to enjoy breakfast or lunch at the café, before leaving with a box of delicious baked goods that will no doubt not last as long as planned – no one can resist Bam Bam’s salted caramel éclair, no one!

Bam Bam Bakehouse was founded on the ethos of ‘simple-food-done-well’. This is obvious when you look at the bakery’s concise all-day menu, which includes a selection of savoury dishes ideal for either breakfast or lunch.

During our visit we enjoyed a simple, yet delicious toasted ham and cheese croissant, a bacon and egg roll, and our personal favourite and must-try dish, the Bam Bam Benny - a classic eggs benedict in one of Bam Bam’s toasted, melt-in-the-mouth croissants!
